Welcome to the Ætherlayer
What is the Ætherlayer?
The Ætherlayer is the mass entanglement of emitted frequencies and energies that blankets the world. The currents and frequencies are referred to as Æther.
Special optical enhancers enable the user to see an overlay of this layer over real space. The technology most often represents the Ætheric currents as a cyan hued fog. The fog seems to flow along the currents in the direction of the emitted frequencies. Data packages can be seen as motes of sparkling dust riding upon the currents.
Entities that emit frequencies seem to glow. The brightness is relative to how much energy they are emitting.
Why is it important?
The Ætherlayer is of great importance to modern humanity.
First, it enables long distance communication, as well as, highspeed data transfer.
Second, it serves as a repository. It is possible to submit a holding frequency that will float within the Ætherlayer until it is dispersed by a unlocking code.
Finally, the frequencies recharge Æthercores. These are crystaline structures, usually spherical in shape (due to the efficiency of volume). They are a sort of high capacity, high output batteries. They power most modern electronics including everything from CÆTs to blasters.
